Video: The New Canis Drive Series Is Flexible And Can Withstand Extreme Environmental Conditions

The compact hollow shaft drives of the Canis Drive series should be characterized by a significant improvement in performance and power density, a 30% higher torque and a 40% longer service life. The series, which was designed as a further development of the CHA series, is available in six sizes and five gear ratios between 50 and 160 with a maximum torque between 23 Nm and 841 Nm.
The central hollow shaft of the drive system is intended to simplify the machine design enormously, because the tilt-resistant output bearing allows high payloads to be attached directly without further support. The new lubricant Flexolub-A1, the high degree of protection and the corrosion protection make the series suitable for use under extreme environmental conditions.
Numerous possible combinations
According to the manufacturer, the Canis Drive series offers optimal combination options of a highly dynamic, compact AC hollow shaft motor, a gearbox using Cobalt Line technology and a powerful motor feedback system. The newly developed precision backlash bearings preloaded without play enable the outer ring of the flange bearing to be mounted directly on the machine housing. The load can also be screwed to the inner ring of the precision bearing without an intermediate flange. This has the advantage that the bearing accuracy is not falsified by the intermediate gear housing, which in turn should guarantee the best parallelism, perpendicularity and coaxiality of the gear output to the machine housing.

Hollow shafts with up to 60% of the outside diameter possible
There are numerous possible combinations for adapting to the customer-specific application when choosing the motor winding, the motor feedback system, the brake and various sensor, cable and connector options. This should enable compatibility with almost all commercially available servo drives. With the Yukon Drive harmonic drive servo controller, the Canis Drive has a ready-made drive system that is specially tailored to its performance.
The cobalt line gearbox installed in Canis Drive consists of the three components Circular Spline, Flexspline and the Wave Generator. The new series with integrated cobalt line technology is the basis for the further development of the harmonic drive hollow shaft servo drives. (sh)
