Video: Laying The Foundation Stone: Rittal's Compact Housing Production Plant Based On Industry 4.0 Structures

When laying the foundation stone, Hesse's Prime Minister Volker Bouffier praised: “This is a big step towards the future and a strong commitment to the Hesse location, the region of Central Hesse and the people who live here. That deserves a lot of respect."
From 2018, around 9,000 compact housings will be produced per day on 24,000 m². The factory is designed in such a way that any product desired by the customer can be efficiently produced from the 300 basic housing types with any desired batch size. The tasks of the 290 employees will develop into monitoring, analyzing and optimizing activities.

"The networking of production is crucial for the future of Germany as a business location," said Dr. Friedhelm Loh, owner and CEO of the Friedhelm Loh Group, to which Rittal is the largest company, “because this is the only way we can generate sufficient productivity to be prepared for global competition and at the same time keep many families in our home country."
