Video: Roadshow Shows The Workplace Of The Future
With wearables, for example intelligent data glasses or smart watches, companies can tap many advantages of Industry 4.0 - the researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT and their spin-off Oculavis GmbH are convinced of this. With the second edition of the Smart Glasses Experience Days in the form of a roadshow, the Aachen experts once again offer interested companies the opportunity to find out about interactive technologies near their own locations: the latest end devices, such as the Microsoft Holo-Lens or Google Glass 2 and the corresponding applications can be tried out by participants.

Accelerate value-adding processes
The Smart Glasses Experience Days will take place on twelve dates in eleven major cities in Germany, Italy and Switzerland. The Fraunhofer researchers and their Oculavis partners want to show the numerous possibilities that manufacturing companies open up through the use of smart devices: The mobile devices can help, for example, to accelerate value-adding processes in production and knowledge in real time across location boundaries to share.
The participants of the events can extensively test various applications on the latest smart glasses and other wearables as part of interactive technology forums and discuss their experiences with the experts and other seminar participants. Important labor law and occupational psychological aspects are not neglected.
Wearable Potential Check identifies promising applications
The Fraunhofer IPT developed the Wearable Potential Check based on the results of studies and industrial projects to evaluate whether the use of the technologies is worthwhile for your own company: The methodology can be used to systematically identify and evaluate promising applications in manufacturing companies. The implementation and assessment of the effects achieved can also be monitored afterwards. All participants will receive free access to this tool after the seminar.
