The discharge unit with the type designation SDU-200 absorbs an energy of approx. 200 kWs with a discharge power of around 1400 W. According to Koch, the SDU is suitable for direct integration into any combination of capacities, for example in large DC intermediate circuits. It is supplied with a suitable DC switch to which a second SDU can also be connected - if more power and thus more energy consumption or shorter discharge times are required. The switch is provided with a contact that reports whether the SDU is switched on or not. Another overload-protected resistor is installed for an emergency discharge that can also be switched.

According to the company, the SDU is a well thought-out peripheral product for DC circuits with large capacities, which is itself overload-proof and provides security for maintenance personnel.
