Furniture also radiates, especially if it has survived with dignity for decades. But buffets of this kind are rare and therefore mostly unaffordable. Even replicas, possibly made of old or aged wood, have their price: For solid oak furniture like our buffet, you have to pay a five-figure amount in the furniture store. So that you can save yourself the money, we will show you how you can build the buffet cabinet yourself.

In order to offer you this buffet with charisma at a good price, but no less durable, we chose spruce glue instead of oak for the hidden areas. So you can build your own buffet and after staining these two types of wood can only be distinguished by their grain. If you want to save even more money, you can limit yourself to the lower part when building. This also cuts a fine figure on its own. Decide for the top part too, glue a layer of felt underneath when putting the top part on. This will prevent scratches when aligning the sideboard.

Of course, the kitchen buffet only really comes into its own with the right color. Before staining you should therefore treat the oak with a brass brush in the grain direction. The grain is more pronounced. Then apply the stain with a brush before gluing. A root brush is best for polishing, ideally with leather strips. Although these are particularly expensive, they give the oak wood a natural sheen.
