Video: Trumpf And Siemens Are Working On The Industrialization Of Additive Manufacturing

Trumpf and Siemens jointly develop a software solution for optimized additive manufacturing of metal parts with Trumpf machines - from component development to 3D printing. This is intended to simplify the process for the powder-bed-based LMF process for 3D printers from Trumpf and to integrate it into the NX software from Siemens. The solution ranges from development and construction to data preparation of components for 3D printing using the integrated Trumpf build processor from Trumpf.
Optimal interaction between machine and software
"With our common software solution, we offer customers consistently high process reliability through an intelligent process chain," explains Tony Hemmelgarn, President and CEO of Siemens PLM Software. "Since the tools for development, simulation, 3D printing and NC programming for metal parts are combined in one system, no data conversion will be necessary."

"These are very decisive factors for the industrial application of additive manufacturing", adds Peter Leibinger, Chairman of Trumpf Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH. "The result of our partnership is an optimal interaction between machine and software, so that customers benefit from AM-optimized designs and additive manufacturing."
Uniform workflow from development to the finished part
The solution combines the recently announced NX software technology for additive manufacturing with the Trumpf build processor and is offered with Trumpf Tru-Print LMF printers.

NX now offers additive manufacturing solutions
The new software offers a uniform user interface for all additive manufacturing processes. It covers the entire digital process chain in a single, integrated, associative software environment. It is no longer necessary to use individual applications for component development and data preparation. The new software package Tru-Tops Print with NX combines all the required functions in one solution for the additive manufacturing of parts in the laser melting process with Trumpf printing systems.
