Hytorc wants to make the error-free screwing of flange connections a lot easier: The Flange Fix, developed by the company itself, is a labeling system available in different sizes, which the user puts around the flange like a tape. Flange Fix also works on other components with high quality requirements, such as slewing rings or tower sections. The numbers on the tape indicate the order in which the individual screw connections are to be tightened in accordance with national or international regulations.
Inscription missing or incorrect
In the case of flange connections, this sequence has a decisive effect on the surface pressure, which is jointly responsible for the tightness of the flange. Deviating from the correct sequence is therefore a reason for leakage. In practice, however, the intended labeling is often missing or incorrect. The reason: the procedure is time consuming. In addition, markings smear with chalk or permanent markers or become illegible, especially on greasy surfaces.
Regardless of this, correct tightening is made difficult by the fact that the sequence depends on the number of assembly tools used.
In order to minimize the risks resulting from these circumstances, it has so far often been time-consuming and costly to monitor the labeling and the subsequent assembly work. "The Flange-Fix tape, designed and patented by one of our employees, clears up all these problems," says Patrick Junkers, Managing Director of Hytorc-Barbarino & Kilp GmbH.
Marking system available for the most common flanges
Hytorc offers the marking system for the most common flanges (ANSI B16.5, B16.47B and EN 1092: 2001 (D) type 11). The screw distances are specified for standardized flange connections so that the tapes fit exactly. In addition, the marking system is available in three versions: for the use of an assembly tool or for the parallel operation of two or four tools.
Hytorc also offers Flange Fix for special dimensions, for example for apparatus or tower flanges or slewing ring connections. In addition, the labeling system can be customized with the logo of the user company, QR codes or RFID transponders. (sh)
