Video: Stable Sales And Orders In Sensor And Measurement Technology
The AMA Association for Sensor and Measurement Technology surveys its 480 members quarterly on economic development. While the industry was able to record significant sales growth in the first two quarters of the year, sensor and measurement technology was stable at a high level in the third quarter. The sensor technology and measurement technology thus reflects the development of the manufacturing industry in Germany, which also did not pick up in the third quarter. Domestic demand was lower there, the impetus came mainly from abroad.
Sales increase of 5 percent
Compared to the results of the third quarter of 2015, however, the AMA members generated a sales increase of 5%. The AMA members are positive about the current quarter and forecast an increase of 2%.
"Our industry is and will remain a stable economic size and will start the coming year with confidence," says Thomas Simmons, AMA Managing Director. "If we look at the future projects of the Federal Government such as energy-efficient and climate-adapted cities, sustainable mobility, internet-based services for business, Industry 4.0 and secure identity, then these projects show the challenges that are currently being worked on. In all projects, the solutions are based on the data that sensors provide and measurement technology evaluates.”(Jv)
