As part of its solution engineering approach, KVT-Fastening has developed a new connecting element especially for screwing components with elongated holes: Ecosyn-SFT. The innovative solution emerged from a customer requirement and is intended to solve several requirements of companies from the metal, vehicle and trailer construction as well as sheet metal processing. So far, several components (screw, washer, nut) have been used here, which also require a counterhold as part of the screwing process.

Not so with Ecosyn-SFT: The patent-pending system is supposed to combine all relevant connecting elements in one assembly. According to the manufacturer, this means that for the first time, two components can be connected to one another from one side in a single plug-in and tightening process - without any pre-assembly or mechanical counter-holding. The design also allows the attachment to be loosened for readjustment, for example to adjust gap dimensions. The lock remains in place. Florian Beer, Managing Director Germany KVT-Fastening, says: “Our Ecosyn products are in-house developments that offer a close connection between cost-effectiveness (“eco”) and precise coordination with customer needs (“synchronously”). The new connecting element demonstrates this as an example. Here, less and faster assembly work and the scope of parts go hand in hand with greater process reliability."

No part forgotten or lost

Horst Sälzle, Product Manager at KVT-Fastening, adds: “Ecosyn-SFT represents a revolution in the connection of components with oblong holes do without the additional space required.”When installing the Ecosyn-SFT, the add-on component, covering the screw-on point, is first positioned over the elongated hole in the bracket. The connecting element is then passed through both openings and locks securely on the back of the carrier when tightened. A counter hold - as with the use of a conventional nut - should be avoided. Since Ecosyn-SFT combines all the components required for the screw connection, users should not be able to forget or lose any parts during the entire assembly process. The load-bearing attachment of the screw-on part to the carrier is ensured.

Ecosyn-SFT is available in thread sizes M4 to M16 in the versions galvanized steel (optionally zinc flake) and the screw quality 8.8 and 10.9. Due to the unique functionality, Ecosyn-SFT is specially tailored to the respective requirements after an analysis of the customer's current situation by the solution engineering experts from KVT-Fastening.
