Video: Expert Jury Selects Winners Of The 14th Design + Technology Awards

The winners for the 14th Materialica Design + Technology Award have been determined. At the beginning of September, the jury of experts selected the most interesting products and projects as winners from numerous submissions. In the special “Student” category, three student submissions from Germany, Canada and South Korea also have the chance to win € 1,500.
Imaginative products from companies and students
"We also had great contributions this year: These included optimization projects as well as a few submissions that represent real innovations at the core of their cause," said jury chair Prof. Christian Labonte, Manager Design Communications in the Design Strategy area at Audi. “We have seen a lot of new things in the basics, for example in terms of materials, in recent years. This continues in new products and applications. Some companies and some student submissions were very imaginative here,”continues Labonte. “Overall, the level was higher this year than in previous years. It was really difficult for us to ignore products,”says Robert Metzger, CEO of Munich Expo and organizer of the award.
The winners can now expect the announcement of the Silver, Gold and Best Of Awards in the four categories "Material", "Product" "Surface & Technology" "CO2 Efficiency" and the special category "Student". The official award ceremony for the award will take place on the first day of the E-Move 360 ° Europe trade fair on October 18, 2016. The TV journalist Jan Stecker (automobile, sports) moderates the event and receives musical support from the Munich-based singer Tim Peltzer.
