Video: Deutsche Messe Announces The Hermes Award
Companies and institutions can now apply for the Hermes Award 2017. The award is an important industry award that is presented annually at the Hannover Messe. The award goes to a product that stands for technological development and is shown for the first time at the trade fair. It is also a prerequisite that the submitted products have already been tested industrially or are in industrial use and that the technical and economic implementation is assessed in a particularly new way.
The Deutsche Messe announces the award annually and endows it with a PR package worth around EUR 100.00. "The Hermes Award not only attracts attention to the winner, but also to the nominated companies," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, member of the board of Deutsche Messe AG. "Whoever is nominated is one of the most progressive companies at the fair." The application deadline is February 22, 2017.
Winners and nominees honored at the Hannover Messe
An independent jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wahlster, director and chairman of the executive board of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), will determine the winner. The nominated companies will be presented on April 23 at the opening ceremony of the Hannover Messe 2017. All nominated products will then be presented from April 24 to 28, 2017 at the trade fair in the Research & Technology area in Hall 2.
At last year's fair, Harting received an award for the Mica product. It is an open and modular platform as a central component of embedded hardware and software for Industry 4.0. The combination of established Linux technologies enables virtualization of field devices. With Mica, existing machines and systems can be provided with intelligence.
