Video: Winkel Invests Around 8 Million Euros In Production And Assembly Halls

The foundation has already been laid, and assembly work for the new 5000 m² production halls is to begin shortly. Completion is planned for mid-2017. "So far, the project has been going according to plan," says Christian Winkel, managing director of the company. Winkel has been implementing innovative linear and handling technology solutions at its Illingen location for more than 30 years and is established worldwide as a technology leader and partner to well-known system integrators. "We now offer a wide portfolio of robust linear guides, flexible multi-axis linear systems, robot axes and powerful lifting systems, as well as efficient and ergonomic storage and picking technology," says Winkel.
With the increasing success, especially with the order picking stations and storage and retrieval machines, the space requirement in production also increased by leaps and bounds - which is why the new hall should now provide more capacity. "We have a very high level of vertical integration, and that requires a lot of space for employees, machines and systems," explains Winkel. "The new hall will house several state-of-the-art CNC milling centers for large components with travel distances of up to 13 m."
The investment volume for the entire project is around 8 million euros. "However, we assume that this will pay off after a short time," explains the managing director. "After all, we are able to make our production and assembly processes more efficient and significantly more efficient." The investment in the Illingen location should also send a positive signal for the future for the company's 150 employees. "We are closely connected to the region and the people here and do everything we can to be successful in the long term and together," Winkel emphasizes.
