Video: New Auxiliary Drive Makes Bucket Elevator Drives Energy-efficient And Powerful

"With the new auxiliary drive, we offer our customers new options for energy-saving and low-wear conveyor technology," explains Daniel Aßmann, Managing Director of Currax. "The geared motors help to make better use of the savings potential in the vertical transport level."
The Simogear geared motor range from Siemens includes all common types, such as helical, parallel shaft and bevel geared motors. They are characterized by a particularly small construction volume and high torque at the same time. The standard range covers a performance range from 0.09 kW to 15 kW and gear unit torques up to 1,850 Nm. Thanks to its standard connection dimensions, Simogear is compatible with the current standard. The performance features include the high energy efficiency due to the plug-in pinion principle and the compact design thanks to the aluminum housing and integrated end shield.

The bucket elevator unit designed by Currax is of the same high quality as its components, making the Simotics GP motor series from Siemens light in weight and dynamic in design. The IE4 motors offer energy saving potential and achieve up to 14% higher efficiency and low losses.
The well-known Flender gear units as a comprehensive modular system can be individually tailored to the needs of the customer. The portfolio ranges from a universal standard gearbox program to application-specific gearboxes and customer-specific solutions. It includes helical and bevel-helical gear units as well as single and multi-stage planetary gear units. Due to the different transmission concepts and designs, the model series offer many design variants in a torque range from approx. 2,000 to 2,600,000 Nm.
As a clutch for a complete bucket elevator drive, Currax offers the N-Eupex cam clutch from Flender Siemens. It is flexible and has damping properties that compensate for shaft misalignments. The puncture-proof coupling promises the greatest possible operational safety and is available in 23 sizes. The torque range extends from 19 Nm to 62,000 Nm.
"The coordinated components of the drive meet the requirements for conveyor technology in harsh environments such as dust absorption," explains Daniel Aßmann. (ud)
