Trade Fair Duo Intec And Z Start In Leipzig

From March 7 to March 10, 2017, the trade fair double Intec and Z will take place at the Leipzig Trade Fair. The organizers expect 1382 exhibitors from 30 countries. The Intec, trade fair for machine tools, manufacturing and automation technology, and the Z, supplier fair for parts, components, modules and technologies, show innovations and services from the industries on 70,000 m ².

First important industry get-together of the year

Intec is the larger of the two trade fairs - a total of 1020 companies show their range of services here. The organizer promises that not only global companies, but also small and medium-sized companies should be addressed at the fair. Visitors can expect cutting, ablating and forming machine tools, machines for surface processing, laser systems as well as tools and clamping devices - these include, above all, precision tools and tool systems.

At Z, which takes place in parallel, 362 companies will be exhibiting as suppliers for the automotive industry, machine, tool and plant construction as well as other industrial sectors. The Z exhibitors are mainly suppliers of the lower and middle production levels as well as service providers for the industry. With this, the fair also wants to offer small and medium-sized companies a presentation platform for their business.

"The trade fairs invite you to the first important industry get-together of the year for the metalworking industry and the supply industry," says the managing director of the Leipzig trade fair, Markus Geisenberger. "We are building on the success of the last edition."

Central German industry as the foundation of the international fair

"In addition to a Germany and Europe-wide catchment area, Central Germany's industry is the foundation of the trade fair duo," says project director Kersten Bunke. 341 exhibitors from Saxony have announced themselves. "At no other German industry trade fair, Saxon mechanical engineering and the Saxon supply industry present themselves in a comparable range," explains Bunke. Most of the Intec exhibitors come from Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria, in addition to Saxony.

The proportion of international exhibitors at Intec is 11%. Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic form the top group of the 22 countries. The Z also wants to show itself internationally. Italy, Poland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic lead the ranks of the countries with the most foreign exhibitors. According to the organizer, a total of a quarter of the Z exhibitors come from abroad.

Special shows about lightweight construction and 3D printing

On all days of the fair, the special show "Intelligent Lightweight Construction" shows current developments and perspectives of cross-sector technology. Additive manufacturing is another key technology that is to be given a lot of space at the Leipzig trade fairs this year. The technology forum, which is designed and organized by the Dresden Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research IFAM together with the Leipziger Messe, provides information on technologies and the potential of new processes on all days of the fair. A symposium on March 8th and 9th gives application-oriented insights into the state of the art as well as fields of application and perspectives of additive manufacturing.
