According to the company, the unique feature in Japan is that if the emergency battery is completely discharged, it is possible to switch to the high-performance cells in order to use their capacity for the continuation or an additional emergency trip. Tests of the system have shown that emergency driving up to 20 km at a speed of <15 km / h is possible with both batteries. The test runs were carried out with passenger trains consisting of four wagons. The system is designed to last 15 years.

Lithium-ion batteries from GS Yuasa are suitable for use in various applications. In addition to automotive applications, they are used in various industrial applications, but also in mass energy storage solutions.
