Around 190,000 visitors from all over the world are expected at the Hanover Fair from April 24th to 28th. The trade fair partner country this year is Poland. Together with Angela Merkel, the Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo will therefore open the fair on Sunday evening. During a joint visit to the fair, both want to inquire about current industry trends. Unlike last year, when President Barack Obama visited the Hannover Messe, no halls will be closed.
How to get to the exhibition center
Lufthansa offers air travelers special fares as part of the trade fair. Once you arrive at Hannover Airport, you can either get to the exhibition center by bus shuttle (between Terminal C and Exhibition Center West 1) or by S-Bahn (S5 to the main train station, then S8 to the Exhibition Center entrance north). Rail travelers go directly to the Hannover Messe / Laatzen fair station and reach the exhibition halls via the "Skywalk".
The best way to get to the Hannover Messe by car or taxi is via the A2, regardless of whether you are arriving from Munich or Hanover. The website of the Lower Saxony Traffic Management Center provides current information on the traffic situation, traffic jams and arrival times. The parking fee for exhibition parking spaces is generally € 10. All relevant parking options are listed on the website of the Gesellschaft für Verkehrsförderung mbH.
Attention: The Hannover Messe has been carrying out bag checks at all entrances since 2016. Small backpacks, trolleys, bags and other containers are subjected to a security check. Longer waiting times should therefore be planned especially at peak times.
