Cool Modernity The Conversion Of A Shopping Center In Köngen To “living Environments” Wants To Offer More Than Shopping

Contrary to his company motto: "Everyone will be happy", the entrepreneur Albert Maier was not happy with the previous situation at his company headquarters. The sales rooms looked too uniform. "Because today's customers don't just shop," says Albrecht Maier, "they want authenticity, experience something and be entertained at the same time." In order to make himself and his customers happy, the building had to be renovated. That is why Albrecht Maier converted the AWG center in Köngen into the “KÖ 8” for around nine million euros. With the renovation, he is aligning his visions of shopping into the future. The result is a modern facade and an entrance that mimics the London train station. But the interior has also been restored. Customers are now being wooed with different, newly designed "living environments":there with an ambience like in a subway station or a warehouse with graffiti, here with maritime chic à la Sylt. As a connecting element of the different living environments, the 760 square meter wall area was designed with Jaeger concrete look. The Epoca 949 marble was used.
