Leading Trade Fair Promotes Business Deals

Manufacturer Senvion will supply the offshore wind turbines for the Trianel wind farm Borkum II. At Wind Energy Hamburg, both exhibitors signed the conditional turbine and service contract for Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG (TWB II). The offshore wind farm is said to consist of 32 Senvion 6.XM series turbines and will have an installed capacity of around 203 MW after completion in autumn 2019. The Trianel Borkum II wind farm is to be built 45 km north of Borkum in the German North Sea as the second expansion stage of the Trianel Borkum wind farm, which went into operation in September 2015. The 32 Senvion 6.2M152 are said to generate energy in excess of 800 million kWh per year in 25 to 35 meters of water and thus supply around 210,000 households.Construction could start in early 2018.

Offshore contracts

GE Renewable Energy has won an order to supply turbines for the 50 MW Tire project in Izmir, western Turkey. As the exhibitor reports, nine 3.2 MW turbines and 13 1.7 MW turbines are to be built in the Turkerler Holding wind farm.

As Siemens announced during the world's leading trade fair, the exhibitor received a maintenance and repair order for the offshore grid connection and the substructure of the platform and turbines of the Veja Mate offshore project. Siemens is installing 67 turbines of the 6 MW class for the 400 MW wind power plant and is ensuring the connection to shore via the Borwin2 direct current network connection. The maintenance contract has a term of five years and begins with commissioning, which is planned for the end of 2017. The client is Veja Mate Offshore Projects GmbH. The Veja Mate offshore power plant is being built northwest of the island of Borkum at a distance of 115 kilometers off the East Frisian coast. The SWT-6.0-154 series wind turbines will be installed in water depths between 39 m and 41 m from March 2017.
