
Video: General Meeting Of The Plaster & Decor Group .. Plaster - A Material With A Future

Does the material plaster have future potential for architecture? Students and experts from the HAWK University of Applied Sciences investigated this question in a research project initiated by the plaster & decor group in the Association of the German Paint and Printing Ink Industry (VdL). The first results have already been documented in a brochure, says Professor Markus Schlegel, holder of the Chair for Architecture and Color Design at HAWK, who presented the project at the traditional autumn conference in Cologne, the cathedral city. The focus of the research work was previously a study on the past and present consideration of plaster; because, according to Prof. Schlegel, "Future needs origin". Hildesheim has also created a whole series of interesting creations of future scenarios for plaster. The aim is,To further develop the plaster product in cooperation with the specialist group under the title "rendering / codes future plaster" in an interdisciplinary dialogue and thus make it future-proof, since this material plays a very important role for our cultural area. As Prof. Schlegel announced in Cologne, the first step in the public eye will take place in March 2016 in Munich as part of the leading trade fair Color, Finishing & Facade.
