Video: Altivar Machine 340 From Schneider Electric Ensures Maximum Machine Performance
With a shorter task cycle time, the Altivar 340 is designed to optimize motor control and thus improve machine performance. It is designed to control the machine speed, torque and position in the open or closed control loop.
According to Schneider Electric, the Altivar Machine series placed particular emphasis on user-friendliness and extensive connectivity. The new frequency converter therefore offers a variety of communication interfaces and protocols such as Can Open, Modbus TCP, Ethernet IP or Sercos III. In addition, it allows access to an internal web server and enables real-time communication with state-of-the-art automation architectures.
Rapid integration
According to Schneider, the converter should also be integrated as quickly as possible. Thanks to the tested, validated and documented architectures (TDVA) of the machine struxure solutions from Schneider Electric, the development and construction time should be significantly reduced. The multi-loader function also enables the frequency converter to be parameterized quickly and easily.
Compliance with machine safety requirements is an important point for mechanical engineering. The Altivar 340 therefore offers a range of safety functions for applications up to SIL 3 / PL e. Thanks to the circuit board coating according to class 3C3, the inverters are corrosion-resistant and reliable even in particularly harsh environments.
Schneider Electric sees typical areas of application for the Altivar 340 in the woodworking and packaging industry as well as in the area of conveying and lifting. (jv)
