Video: Inexpensive High-end Code Reader For Standard Applications

The compact sensor reads all common 1D barcodes and 2D data matrix codes; A typical application is the identification of directly marked components in mechanical engineering as well as in the automotive and plastics industries.
Adapt flexibly to different object sizes
The integrated 1.3 MP image chip can now also be used for applications in which the usual VGA resolution is not sufficient, for example if several small codes are to be detected in a large search area. If full image resolution is not required, the user can instead choose between different image sections and three different focal lengths (6, 12 and 25 mm) that are simulated by software. In this way, the sensor can be flexibly adapted to different object sizes and detection distances without having to change the lens or change the mounting position.
Like the other sensor variants of the Sensopart series Visor V10 and V20, the new code reader is housed in a compact, industrial-grade housing with protection type IP67 with integrated image acquisition, optics, lighting and signal processing. In addition to EthernetIP, the vision sensor also supports the Profinet fieldbus standard. It is fully backwards compatible with the Visor V10 series, making it easy to replace. (jv)
