Video: Two-channel PID Temperature Controller With Extensive Functionality

All PID controllers in the new series have the "Two control loops" option. It allows the user to use the two channels for independent PID control of two zones or for cascade and ratio control as well as for other, individually configurable functions. This option also includes two independent generators for either independent, synchronous or asynchronous setpoint profiles.
Small, local machine control
For the implementation of simple interlocks, sequences and personalized calculations, the controllers offer 32 logic and 8 calculation blocks. With the 1/4 DIN format, up to eight additional digital or relay inputs and outputs can be provided. They are controlled by the logic modules and make the two-channel PID controller 1850 a very flexible and complete local machine control system with a total of up to 31 available inputs and outputs.
The user interface of the controller can be fully personalized. The bright, high-contrast display ensures that all information is clearly displayed. Parameterization takes place directly via the keypad on the controller or on the PC using configuration software provided by Gefran.
Suitable for preventive maintenance
The new two-channel controllers are the ideal solution for all applications in which several physical variables such as temperature, humidity, pressure etc. have to be set and production data has to be recorded. They are ideal for preventive maintenance. Their use increases the efficiency of the system and, thanks to the integrated energy monitor, enables constant monitoring of consumption. The most important applications of the two-channel controller include melting furnaces, climatic chambers, burners, coolers, sterilization autoclaves and nitriding furnaces. (jv)
