Numerous exhibitors and visitors canceled at Embedded World, the Light + Building has been postponed to September 2020 - now Deutsche Messe is also speaking up: It is not yet certain whether the Hanover Fair will take place this way.

The Hannover Messe is not yet being postponed

In a current press release, the organizer wrote that the threat of the coronavirus Covid-19 was taken very seriously and that there was a close exchange with the responsible health authorities.

The board of the exhibitor advisory board and the trade fair partner associations VDMA and ZVEI announced that it was still too early to speak of a postponement of the Hannover Messe. According to the organizer, there is still no "significant cancellation by exhibitors". In a discussion with health authorities following this week, concrete measures for the Hannover Messe 2020 are to be developed.

Another briefing in mid-March

Deutsche Messe is thus reacting to the developments of the corona virus in Europe and the postponement of individual trade fairs. The situation could change every day, the organizers said. That is why they want to monitor the situation closely and evaluate it again in mid-March together with the health authorities and the exhibitor advisory board. The safety and health of all employees, customers, partners and guests have top priority.

The trade fair also announces that it will increase the cleaning measures for high-traffic areas such as entrances, door handles and escalator runs and set up additional disinfectant dispensers on the premises. In addition, specialist personnel trained on infectious diseases are available on the site.
