The well-known series of vacuum clamping plates from Witte can now be brought to the required size in a few moments by simply joining them from the same family. According to the manufacturer, the modular concept allows the clamping surface to be enlarged in two directions. The vacuum clamping plates are available in the formats 200 x 300 mm, 300 x 400 mm and 400 x 600 mm. In this way, formats with dimensions of 200 x 300 mm can be combined to form clamping plates with a size of 200 x 600 mm or 300 x 400 mm. When using larger and several individual plates, appropriate formats up to a multiple of the original format are possible.

Extensive accessories

Fasteners that function as quick couplings are included in the scope of delivery. Clamping devices for fastening to the machine table, wire spiral hoses for the connection to the vacuum unit, an operating tool for mounting the blind plugs and plate adapters as well as a rubber adapter mat in the standard version are included in the scope of delivery.

When using adapter mats made of a special and precise rubber mixture, there are additional possibilities. When using this special "rubber mat", the respective processing machine can achieve maximum precision, says Witte. In this way, much smaller workpieces are milled out of initial blanks, which can have the format of the vacuum clamping plate. With a milling strategy adapted to the vacuum clamping device, even workpieces in the format of a few square centimeters are milled out, explains the manufacturer. (jv)
