Video: Version 4.0 Of The 3D Evolution Conversion Software Released

The individual modules of the tool are clearly arranged in app style, similar to smart phones or tablets, so that only the functions relevant to the respective task are always shown. In this way, even complex tasks can be completed with just a few clicks. With the possibility of intelligently converting models with construction history and 2D drawings, the new conversion software takes on a pioneering role.
Numerous functional extensions
At the core of the software are numerous interfaces that have been updated for the 4.0 version and expanded in terms of functionality. With native formats, it is possible to read the construction history, all feature information and product manufacturing information (PMI) as well as metadata. The interfaces for data conversion specially developed by Core Technologie work without a CAD license and ensure maximum independence and cost reduction, since the individual CAD systems for the exchange of native CAD data such as Catia V5 and V6, NX, Creo, Solidworks and JT, PDF and step models are not required. B-REP models are converted with data analysis in accordance with VDA 4955/2 as well as automatic healing and manual data repair.
The technologically unique feature-based module also allows the conversion of fully editable models with history and parametrics. For Catia V5 towards NX, the transfer of associative 2D drawings is also possible for the first time.
Daimler-compliant JT conversion
The software has already been certified by Daimler and corresponds to the Daimler-compliant JT conversion. The current version is particularly interesting for suppliers who can exchange native CAD and JT data with the software. With JT data exchange, PLMXML and JT are generated with XT-Brep and Level of Detail. Healing to optimize data quality is used for problematic output data. The adaptive conversion to generate control areas such as cylinders, tori, cones and planar areas from pure nurbs data ensures optimal processing of the JT data.
Sustainable assembly structures
The new software already has the new Step AP 242 XML format for the description of the assembly structure, which will be used in the future. So-called “monikers” are also supported, which enable uniform area identification in the JT models. Here, the same surfaces of the JT models always keep the same identifier even when changes are made to the output data and thus have a consistent identifier throughout the process. The JT Checker module from 3D Evolution checks JT data for all relevant criteria, identifies the presence and consistency of the monikers and can also correct the JT data.
Protection against product piracy
The modular software suite also offers revised functions for generating an envelope geometry to protect 3D data against product piracy. The DMU analysis functions such as collision considerations, model comparison and gap dimension control have been supplemented with analyzes for mold construction such as wall thickness testing, undercut control and draft analysis as well as the calculation of the projected areas and are also available in the 3D analyzer viewer of the software manufacturer.
