Video: Electronic Pressure Switch With IO-Link

The new Type 934 pressure sensor from Layher AG was equipped with an IO-Link interface in order to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0, according to the manufacturer. The new product is based on the Layher Type 930 pressure sensor, which is already available in various versions for the measuring ranges from 0 to 10 bar, 0 to 100 bar and 0 to 250 bar as well as a temperature range from 0 to 70 ° C.
Commissioning easier and faster
Easier and faster commissioning is possible with IO-Link, for example by offline parameterization of the sensors before installation or by automatic sensor recognition online using the IO-Link app on the AS-i / fieldbus gateway. In addition, the pressure sensor variant presented is intended to increase the availability of machines and systems. For example, the manufacturer cites incorrect operation during operation by switching off the control buttons on the sensor.
According to Layher, the measured values are transferred without conversion losses, the values on the sensor display correspond to the values on the machine display. Machine diagnostics up to the sensor level should work without interrupting ongoing operations. Since sensors and actuators, analog or binary, can be connected via IO-Link ports, various input / output modules could be replaced and installation costs saved. (jv)
