Gossen Metrawatt now offers its Energymid energy meter in two versions with direct connection. According to the company, both models do not require an external current and voltage converter, thereby saving space and costs. The new meter model EM 2281 is available for direct measurement of energy in 2-wire AC systems with 230 V voltage. The EM 2289 energy meter is designed for 4-wire three-phase systems with currents up to 80 A and an input voltage of 400 V.
Like all models of the new generation of meters, the direct measuring models are MID-calibrated and provide billable consumption and feed-in data for cost center-related billing. In addition to the power consumption, reactive energy, apparent power, neutral conductor current, power factor and frequency as well as the energy feed-in can be recorded and the network quality can also be monitored using Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). Various standardized and freely programmable outputs are available for the transmission of measured values via impulse. For flexible network integration and remote reading, the manufacturer also optionally equips the meters with interfaces for M Bus, LON, BACnet and Modbus RTU / -TCP. The new generation of meters is compactly dimensioned with four graduation units and can be mounted on 35 mm top-hat rails in any installation position in the control cabinet. A backlit display shows the selected measurement data, is intended to simplify the monitoring of the connection parameters and to warn against phase failure, overload and installation errors by changing colors.
