Video: Russwurm Leaves The Siemens Board

The supervisory board of Siemens AG and board member Siegfried Russwurm have mutually agreed not to extend the Russwurm contract, which expires at the end of March 2017. Russwurm has been a member of the Management Board since January 2008 and, in addition to his work as Chief Technology Officer Partner, was most recently responsible for the management of the independently managed healthcare business. Regionally, he was also responsible for the Middle East and the CIS.
"Siegfried Russwurm has been with Siemens since 1992 and has had a decisive influence on the company in many areas," explains Gerhard Cromme, Chairman of the Siemens Supervisory Board. “My thanks and appreciation for this. The decision not to renew his contract was made by mutual agreement.”
Joe Kaeser, Siemens CEO, says: “On behalf of all of my colleagues, I would like to thank Mr. Russwurm for the good and successful cooperation over the years. As Chief Technology Officer, he played a key role in making Siemens a key player worldwide in electrification, automation and digitalization.”
Russwurm himself explains: “I spent a large part of my professional life at Siemens. I will always stay connected to the company and its employees. Nevertheless, I don't want to ignore any new challenges and have therefore agreed with the Supervisory Board not to extend my expiring contract.”
