Video: Gimatic Germany Takes Over Sales In Switzerland

Gimatic Vertrieb GmbH in Hechingen has been selling the pneumatic and mechatronic gripper and handling components of the Italian company Gimatic Srl in Germany since 2005. Customer-specific gripper systems are also designed and built at the location in Germany. Effective October 1, 2016, the sphere of activity for sales will be expanded to include the region of Switzerland and will now take place directly from the German branch.
Gimatic is growing strongly and would like to continue the development of the past two to three years in particular. After Gimatic was taken over by the Chinese private equity fund Agic with a focus on the Asian regions in June, the expansion in Europe should continue: “Until now, the market for Gimatic in Switzerland had been rather moderate. That should change - we also want to really step on the gas in Switzerland,”says managing director Johannes Lörcher. In addition to the sale of standard products, system solutions for grippers, especially for the plastic injection molding industry for the Swiss market in Germany, are to be designed, built and delivered.
Switzerland needs increasing automation
The technical advice and support for Switzerland is provided by Simon Fontana from Liechtenstein. "Since customers in Switzerland rely on good automation solutions and the market situation is constantly changing, we see great potential here. We are also looking for flexible, solution-oriented partners for the so-called end-of-arm tooling solutions”. Fontana has worked with Gimatic products as a project manager for companies in the industry for many years. "The market for plastic injection molding is currently growing strongly in the region, not least because Switzerland, a high-wage country, requires increasing automation," Fontana describes the background of the development.
Gimatic has a broad knowledge of the handling and gripping of medical technology products. There should be a high demand for this in Switzerland. The company also plans to focus on mechatronics and other applications later. Depending on how the targeted growth develops, Gimatec will gradually hire additional employees. (kj)
