Video: Telematics Modules For Mobile Machines

The three variants of the ESX-TC1 take into account the different communication behavior in different applications. Based on the tried and tested ESX-TC3G, the ESX-TC1 shows its strengths as an on-board data logger in the communication with controls and sensors using CANbus. CANopen, SAE J1939 and open CAN communication are supported. Using the Vehicle Data System (VDS) software, you can configure which CANbus parameters are recorded, stored in the 1 GB data memory and then forwarded. Thanks to the free programming options offered by the embedded Linux system of the TC1, the data can also be preprocessed and evaluated on the module.
Data collector and hotspot
The forwarding can be done in all TC1 variants via Ethernet or the respective wireless interface. The TC1-WiFi and the TC1-WiFi + have WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0. Applications are addressed here that collect data during the day and in which access to a WiFi hotspot with internet connection is possible in the evening. Alternatively, the TC1-WiFi (+) can also function as a hotspot itself, so that the data can be extracted using a laptop or tablet. The TC1-WiFi + variant also offers the option of locating recorded data using GPS / GLONASS. Localization is also an integral part of the solution for the TC1-Mobile. Since the data is transmitted on the way by mobile radio, a position specification is required in most applications.
The complete development environment is freely available for all TC1 variants. A multitude of predefined functions and the broad support for communication via the Telemetry Applications Framework (TAF) allow the rapid creation of an application. The TC1 variants can use the finished STW cloud connector for the connection to the IoT platform "machines.cloud" from STW.
The TC1 variants have connections for external antennas to ensure the best possible reception. The proven and software-compatible ESX-TC3G is available for more complex applications with the combination of WLAN, Bluetooth and mobile radio as well as additional features such as USB and acceleration sensors.
