Thanks to optimized safety functions, the KFM Safety door operator is also recommended as a drive for machine safety doors. The servo motors designed as a modular system are based on segment technology. Their packing density is therefore very high and the motors themselves are extremely compact. This saves valuable installation space. Thanks to protection class IP64 and a robust construction, they are also suitable for harsh environmental conditions. Different brakes, encoders as well as connecting plugs allow an uncomplicated customer-specific adaptation of the motors. Upon request, SIEI-AREG can also implement completely application-specific versions of the segment motors.
A typical application of the servo motors is the drive of the goods take-off from weaving machines. An extremely smooth run prevents irregularities in the weaving pattern. But the SM motors also score in applications with high demands on positioning accuracy and dynamics.
The universal door drive KFM Safety combines asynchronous motor, frequency converter, line filter, communication, fieldbus (optional), analog and digital interfaces and encoders to form a decentralized complete solution. It corresponds to the high safety standards in mechanical engineering, fulfills the requirements according to DIN EN 61508 for use up to and including SIL 2 and was certified by TÜV-Nord according to DIN EN ISO 13849-1 with PL e. For the monitoring of door speed and standstill, it has the three functions "safe torque off" (STO), "safe limited speed" (SLS) and "safe limited torque" (SLT). This guarantees that the precise position is held securely. Redundant sensors and controllers provide additional security.Thanks to its short response times, the KFM Safety is suitable for horizontal doors on tool, packaging and injection molding machines as well as in machining centers and automatic assembly machines.
