Video: New Servomotors Offer Some Improvements Over The Previous Series

Panasonic Electric Works AG offers a new servo motor series. The Minas A6 series is the successor to the Minas A5 series and should have some improvements:
- More compact design: With single-pole technology and a new housing construction, the length was reduced by 30% and the weight of the motor by up to 10%. The encoder has also become more compact.
- High-resolution encoder: The 20-bit (1048576 P /u = pulses per revolution) encoder of the Minas A5 was upgraded to 23-bit (8388608 P /u). This is said to have improved the resolution of the A6 series by 8 times.
- Advanced controller settings: The new servo motors have an even faster frequency response (3.2 kHz) - this enables the controller to react even faster. An improved response of the current control and linearity should also bring about a significant reduction in micro-vibrations.
- Other special features: lower torque ripple, improved vibration suppression during standstill with a rigid load, improved load fluctuation suppression.
Compatible with the previous series
The same connection cables and plugs from the A5 series can also be used for A6. No further storage effort is therefore necessary. When converting or replacing in the machine, the periphery does not have to be changed or adapted. The motor can be exchanged 1: 1 in the machine. The parameterization software Panaterm can be used with both series. (sh)
