As part of Intec and Z 2017, around 1,400 exhibitors from 30 countries will be showing their complex range of services on 70,000 square meters. “The trade fair duo Intec and Z are building on the great success of the previous edition. In March this year, Leipzig will become the stronghold of the metalworking industry and the supplier industry, whose performance is impressively reflected in the two trade fairs,”says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of the Leipziger Messe, about the great attraction of Intec and Z.

Intec and Z

Continue writing the success story

Innovative product innovations from the fields of machine tools, precision tools for metalworking, automation technology for production as well as industrial supplies and services for production are the focus of the two industrial fairs for four days. Managing Director Markus Geisenberger: "Visitors can look forward to a wide range of exciting technology and innovations that represent the entire process and customer chain in manufacturing and make a visit to Intec and Z very worthwhile."

Well-known exhibitors from home and abroad

Important market leaders in the machine tool industry as well as renowned suppliers of precision tools from Germany and abroad such as Yamazaki Mazak, DMG Mori, the Trumpf Group, the Hommel Group, Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle, Schunk, Paul Horn, ISCAR, Emuge, Mapal and Ingersoll Tools are at the forthcoming Intec there. Companies such as Nicolas Correa from Spain, Hwacheon Machinery Europe from Korea, BLM SPA from Italy or Samag Saalfeld Machine Tools from Germany are introducing themselves to trade visitors in Leipzig for the first time. The core areas of Intec also include machine tools and other processing machines as well as precision tools and devices for the upcoming edition. All major German engineering centers are well represented - most Intec exhibitors come from Baden-Württemberg, Saxony,North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria. The largest international participations at Intec 2017 include Italy, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.

German and foreign suppliers are demonstrating their performance and innovative strength as partners of final producers and system suppliers at Z 2017. The supplier fair is well equipped with exhibitors who meet the demand for high-quality parts and components made of metals, plastics and new materials, which are processed according to customer specifications. Demanding services for industry enrich the portfolio of the Z - this includes surface finishers, who can hope for good customer response, especially from the automotive industry, with their sophisticated processes from coating to nanotechnology.

With an international share of 30 percent on average, the Z is traditionally highly international among exhibitors. The strongest exhibitor countries at Z 2017 are - after Germany - Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic. New exhibitors from abroad, for example from Great Britain and Scandinavia, illustrate the international presence of the supplier fair.

Offer from A for automation to Z for machining technology

At Intec 2017, the machine tool sector comes up with a number of innovations and optimizations. Hedelius brings the new, compact and precise 5-axis Acura series for tool and mold making to Leipzig. The Index-Werke present the second generation of the Index G200, which includes improvements from the machine structure with increased turning length to an additional tool carrier and the performance of the milling spindle. With the optimized turning-milling center, simultaneous machining with up to four tools is possible at the same time. The latest CNC machining center of the Berthold Hermle machine factory, C 250, also attracts the attention of the experts.

Production automation from an Industry 4.0 perspective is also reflected in the range of Intec exhibitors. Schunnk presents the electrically controlled Schunk ELP linear axis with Industry 4.0 quality, an ultra-compact linear module with low-maintenance 24V linear direct drive and a low commissioning effort. CytroPac from Bosch Rexroth proves how little space modern hydraulic solutions need. The new small unit reduces the energy requirement by up to 80 percent through demand-based speed controls, records all operating states and fits into Industry 4.0 concepts. Festo also offers a whole range of Industry 4.0-compatible applications - such as adaptive gripper units, software tools for assembly and handling processes or intuitive controls.

Suppliers are in demand

At Z, which takes place parallel to Intec, you will find, among other things, innovations from the plastics processing industry and from mold making: For example, the new hot runner controller Profi Temp + can be examined at the PSG Plastic Service stand, which has advantages such as a small footprint, advanced functions and convenient operation thanks to a touchscreen. Hasco is exhibiting its new, all-round machined P1 plates, which enable moldmakers the greatest possible flexibility and economy in the production of injection molds. The laser specialist bkl-lasertechnik has developed a process with which high-gloss surfaces can be realized with the foam injection molding technique. The material-saving development will be presented at the supplier fair. But that's not all:Rapidobject shows 3D printing models made of plastic, metal or polymer plaster by means of additive manufacturing.

Specialist program on future topics in the industry

In addition to the wide range of offers at the trade fair stands, the accompanying and practice-oriented specialist program is an integral part of Intec and Z 2017. Conferences, meetings and workshops deal with industry issues that are decisive for the future of industrial production.

On all days of the fair, the special show with integrated symposium "Intelligent lightweight construction" in Hall 5 focuses on the current state of development for industrial use. The “Additive Manufacturing” technology forum in Hall 2 provides information about technologies, applications and the potential of new processes and areas of application. On March 8 and 9, experts will give a detailed insight into the possibilities of additive manufacturing at a specialist symposium. The exhibitor forum - also in Hall 2 - offers practical lectures and project presentations from all specialist areas presented on Intec and Z throughout the entire duration of the fair. In Hall 4, experts at the learning factory Lean Factory can get an idea of a holistic production based on lean aspects - various products are manufactured live on a mixed-model assembly line. In addition, the workshop "Connection technology for plastic and metal parts" on March 7th, the Contact Business Meetings on March 8th, the 3rd Saxon Automation Day on March 9th and the student day with job exchange on March 10th aligned.

In the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) - in the immediate vicinity of the fair - the conference "Strategy Workshop: Industry of the Future" will take place on March 7th. On March 8th at the 5th congress "Resource Efficient Production" under the motto "Added Value Digital Factory", the current progress in production technology will be discussed. The 24th Leipzig Technical Seminar of the German Society for Electroplating and Surface Technology on March 9th as well as numerous international seminars and young talent programs round off the specialist program.
