At the Hannover Messe 2017, Siemens is presenting an additional series in the field of torsionally rigid all-steel multi-plate clutches: the new N-Arpex clutch with improved performance data. An optimized disk package and a revised component design should enable the transmission of higher torques and speeds as well as a larger bore capacity with standard hubs. All-steel couplings can be used in all applications where reliable torque transmission with simultaneous shaft displacement is required.

Designed for explosive environments

According to the company, the N-Arpex all-steel coupling is suitable, among other things, for driving pumps, fans, compressors, generator and turbine drives as well as paper and printing press drives. The couplings are designed for an explosive environment in accordance with directive 2014/34 / EU and meet the requirements of API610 / ISO 13709 and API671 / ISO 10441. N-Arpex all-steel couplings are designed for low temperatures down to –50 ° C - and According to Siemens, this is up to ten degrees better than previous versions of the Arpex series.

The torque transmission with simultaneous offset compensation between the machines to be connected should run free of play, torsionally rigid and flexible in the coupling, which is made entirely of steel. The offset compensation can be done in the axial, angular and radial directions. The multi-plate clutches are made of stainless spring steel, are not subject to wear and are therefore maintenance-free. (sh)
