Video: Increased Productivity And Security In Industrial Applications

After the successful re-branding of Multi-Contact, the Stäubli division for electrical connection solutions is presenting itself for the first time under the name Stäubli Electrical Connectors at the Hanover Fair. The electrical connectors are used in various industrial applications and should convince with their high quality and performance, for example in test and measurement technology in test laboratories or with trend-setting solutions for the automotive industry.
"The modular connector system Combitac is suitable for applications in industrial automation because it enables safe and reliable connections with a high number of mating cycles," says Thomas Spindler, Head of Sales and Marketing at Stäubli Electrical Connectors. "In addition, numerous modules can be combined in almost innumerable individual combinations with a wide variety of contact types such as, for example, electrical, fluid, pneumatic or optical."
Specially developed for industrial testing applications
The Combitac system has now been expanded to include a lightweight housing with central locking. The new housing was specially developed for industrial test applications, e.g. B. in the automotive, aerospace and defense industries. According to the manufacturer, an easy-to-use and sophisticated central locking system was integrated "a quarter turn open - quarter turn closed".
In the test environment of an electrical laboratory, many signal connections between test instruments and test items are required. These have to be connected quickly and easily, and this is where the Combitac lightweight housing should come in and enable simple, safe and quick connection and disconnection of test instruments and test objects. With a quarter turn spring lock, it can be fixed in a user-friendly manner. When plugged in, the housing can be opened quickly, allowing direct access to the contacts and electrical measurements.
According to the company, the Combitac lightweight housing can combine signals in high density: up to 320 contacts with Ø 0.6 mm, a configuration with other electrical contacts with diameters of up to 6 mm is also possible. The manufacturer puts great emphasis on flexibility, modularity and user-friendliness. The system is adaptable and expandable, empty carriers can be used for future expansion and the coding can also be changed manually on site.
