Video: Rexroth Increases The Service Life Of Electromechanical Cylinders By Up To 25%

The ready-to-install electromechanical cylinders EMC from Rexroth consist of anodized aluminum profiles in ISO standard dimensions with an integrated ball screw drive. Through continuously improved production processes, Rexroth has significantly increased the load ratings of the core component ball screw and thus increases the nominal life of the electromechanical cylinders by up to 25%. As an option, designers can use a smaller size while maintaining the same load, thereby saving costs. Rexroth has validated the new values in extensive load and life tests under a wide variety of operating conditions.
At the same time, the specialist for linear technology has reduced the minimum stroke of the cylinders in all sizes by up to 50%. In the smallest variant, the minimum stroke that can be ordered is only 30 mm. The shorter strokes that can now be selected reduce the installation space required by up to 22% depending on the size.
The ready-to-install and ready-to-use complete systems reduce construction and assembly costs. Designers can put together their customized EMC variants in just a few steps on the Bosch Rexroth website. After selection and design in the new Linselect tool, users switch to the online CAD configurator, which takes over the configuration data digitally. Registered users will then see the delivery time and price of the selected variants in the e-shop.
Electromechanical cylinders combine the advantages of a cylinder with those of the digital control options of electric drives. A complete modular system with great variability allows users to adapt the complete solution to different applications. The Rexroth EMC family comprises seven sizes, finely scaled. The largest variant EMC100-XC-2 provides feed forces up to 56 kN. All versions can be ordered with a force sensor both at the end of the piston rod and at the belt transmission. (ud)
