The increased power density of the AKM2G servomotors from Kollmorgen with a better torque-speed ratio is primarily due to the optimized winding technology. Kollmorgen has thus succeeded in reducing the copper losses in the windings. The advantages: Better energy efficiency and space for more performance with the same construction volume. In addition, the AKM2G show a more uniform cogging behavior, which ultimately improves the control accuracy.
The new generation of synchronous servomotors will initially come on the market in six sizes with outputs between 0.3 and 10 kW. The AKM2G can be equipped with different feedback systems and are primarily equipped with single-cable connection technology. Due to the modular structure of the series, Kollmorgen can adapt Generation 2 engines even better to the needs of an application in parallel with the series business. This gives machine builders the opportunity to use drives that fit without compromise - especially in combination with the new AKD2G servo drives. (ud)
