The constant development of backlash-free friction connections and the demand for ever more precise design methods for shaft-hub connections (WNV) in the drive train have led to extensive activities in research and development (R&D) at Stüwe. A test stand specially set up for shrink disks has now been put into operation at the Stüwe plant in Hattingen, which, according to the company, is unique in Europe with a static test torque of 6000 kNm. With this test stand, Stüwe wants to carry out the test for the certification of products on site that are used in the multi-mega watt range of wind power. Studies are also to be carried out there to test the tribological behavior of new materials. So it is possibleGenerate practical conditions for the ever more extreme technical and economic demands on the drive systems and make them usable for the design of WNV.

Due to the ever increasing demand for shrink discs made of stainless steel, especially in the chemical and food industries, Stüwe has now added its own series to the new catalog, which will be presented at the Hanover Fair.
The other exhibition program also aims to reduce costs, for example by using hydraulically tensionable shrink discs. The HYD 12 series is particularly suitable for test bench applications due to its quick installation and low maintenance requirements. The use in series products also saves time and reduces assembly costs. (sh)
