Enemac has developed the ECI safety coupling for torque limitation in traction mechanism drives, which is present in packaging machines and conveyor systems. The precise torque limitation is guaranteed by the disc springs used, they also allow large adjustment ranges without changing the disc springs. The ball detent principle interrupts the drive train between the motor and the machine within a few degrees, the separation is forced and purely mechanical.
As a standard, the couplings are equipped with a so-called synchronous detent, ie the drive and driven parts have only one detent point per 360 °.
The torque is transmitted from the motor shaft with a feather key connection to the hub of the clutch. The respective output parts (sprockets, tooth lock washers, flanges or similar) are provided with a plain bearing and are stored on the bearing point of the coupling. The screw connection with the flange ring is sufficient for torque driving.
With existing, short shaft journals in particular, this safety coupling offers the user the option of also using wider output parts. The coupling then becomes a shaft extension. The ECI safety coupling is also available in a stainless steel version on request. The setting torques range from 2 to 900 Nm for 14 sizes. (ud)
