The analog measured value of the inductive displacement transducer from AB Jödden is digitized with an integrated 16-bit A / D converter and processed in a microcontroller. During the manufacturing process of the displacement transducers, the characteristic curve of the coil system is recorded on the measuring machine and saved in the integrated EEPROM. With this correction data, accuracies of the output signals of up to 0.1% of the measuring range are achieved. The digital information is converted with a 16-bit D / A converter into standardized output signals with 0 or 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 5 or 10 V. The displacement transducers can be supplied with an operating voltage between 9 and 32 VDC.
Programmed quickly
The displacement transducer connected to the supply voltage is programmed by connecting the ANF or END connections to + UB for at least 2 s. Successful programming is signaled by briefly changing the output signal to the middle position (1 s). If the ANF and END connections are connected together with UB, the factory setting is restored.
According to the manufacturer, this technology can be used to represent different measuring paths with only one displacement sensor. A displacement transducer with a nominal 15 mm measuring range, corresponding to an output signal from 0 to 20 mA, can convert measuring paths from a minimum of 3 mm to a maximum of 16 mm into a signal with 0 to 20 mA.
The displacement transducers have a square housing (25 mm x 25 mm) or a round M30 housing with protection class IP66 and are available in various mechanical versions. The coil system and the electronics are filled with a plastic potting compound. This design enables use in shock loads up to 250 g SRS (20 to 2000 Hz) and vibration loads up to 20 g rms (50 g peak).
