It is undeniable that robots are moving more and more into our everyday lives and workplaces. Humanoid robots are increasingly being used to improve cooperation with humans. The Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin has now reacted to this and is introducing the bachelor's degree in “Humanoid Robotics”. The degree in this form is so far unique in Germany.

In six semesters, students learn from robots and vice versa. From the very beginning, students design, build and program their own autonomous robots that develop increasingly demanding behaviors over the course of their studies. Innovative techniques can be tested and implemented on them. There are unique platforms for teaching and research such as B. the humanoid robot Myon or the muscle robot ZAR5 are available.

The graduates should become all-rounders: among other things, they learn to mechanically design and manufacture robots, to develop electronic circuits and to program learning skills. The new bachelor's degree enables students to understand and shape this interdisciplinary topic. Great importance is attached to practical relevance at Beuth University. In companies and research laboratories, the students make contacts for a stay abroad, a future job or further studies.

Applications for the restricted admission course are possible from April 15 to July 15, the course starts in the winter semester 2018/2019.
