In a relatively short time, Reform-Werke Bauer & Co GmbH from Wels (Austria) developed a new driving concept for a completely radio-controlled device carrier. Wheel drives from Vogel & Plötscher GmbH from Breisach (Germany) are used
The compact and universal implement carrier Reform Metron P48 RC has similarities to conventional municipal equipment or tractors from agriculture and is equipped with PTO connection, front linkage and three-point hitch to remain compatible with all common implements. What is new is the hybrid drive, which is based on a gasoline engine and is equipped with independent wheel drives from Vogel & Plötscher GmbH. This concept should enable enormous performance and high precision.
Book tip
Based on the current state of the art, the battery world book provides the basic knowledge of battery technology and provides an overview of the development, construction and use of batteries. The book also gives an insight into potential and future development trends.

Independent wheel drives with disc motor
The single-wheel drives consist of efficient disc rotor motors with integrated planetary gears and wheel bearings and intelligent motor controllers. Thanks to this compact drive package, all wheels are driven and steered. This single wheel control means that differential gears or lack of traction on individual wheels are a thing of the past.
The mechanical brake is located behind the motor and, according to Vogel & Plötscher, is characterized by a long service life, since it now only functions as a holding or emergency brake. The motors brake precisely and are able to feed the braking energy back into the batteries.

Avoid hydraulics
In addition, Reform-Werke managed to completely dispense with the use of hydraulics. This maintenance-intensive technology has been completely banished from the vehicle. Instead, a quiet, low-polluting petrol burner drives a generator and the PTO. Only when necessary, because the large battery pack allows the machine to do a lot of things purely electrically and therefore emission-free. If necessary, the combustion engine switches on and thus enables uninterrupted use of the machine.
For Reform-Werke, it was important to use sustainable, low-maintenance and future-proof components for the machine. Further development steps are possible, for example an autonomous operation for agriculture or municipal technology of the future.

Switch to hydrogen technology
With relatively little effort, it could also be switched to hydrogen technology or a purely electric drive. The modular system is prepared for many other areas of application and also allows other gear ratios or motor configurations without mechanical adjustments. This should result in many other future fields of application.
