The partner network "Single Pair Ethernet - Industrial Partner Network" was founded at the past SPS 2019 from seven companies to strengthen the Single Pair Ethernet (SPE). The network has now grown to 17 companies

Single pair Ethernet is the infrastructure basis that IIoT and Industry 4.0 make possible. The network wants to advance the technology for the rapidly growing IIoT market. The common basis is the international standardization for the SPE infrastructure according to IEC 63171-6 as well as IEC 11801-x and IEEE 802.3, to which all members refer.

The seven founding companies that launched the initiative at SPS 2019 include:

  • Harting
  • TE Connectivity
  • Hirose
  • Würth electronics
  • Leoni
  • Murrelektronik
  • Softing IT Networks

Since then, there have been ten other companies:

  • Igus
  • Stretch
  • Helicopter cable
  • Molex
  • Amphenol ICC
  • Lie
  • Escha
  • Perinet
  • EKF
  • Zheijang

According to the initiative, other companies have already expressed interest.

If you would like to find out more, you can visit the Vogel Communications Group booth in Hall 12, Booth B15 on Thursday, April 23, 2020 - from 4:30 p.m. the initiative invites you to a relaxed come-together with interesting lectures.

The new members complete and strengthen the SPE ecosystem and give interested parties the necessary expertise and investment security to start design-in projects with single pair Ethernet. They speak in unison for the T1 Industrial interface defined by ISO / IEC JTC 1 / SC 25 / WG 3 and TIA TR-42 in 2018 according to IEC 63171-6 as a uniform Media Dependent Interface (MDI).

For the reliable establishment of the entire future SPE ecosystem, standards for transmission protocols , cabling and device components are also jointly supported . Therefore, all members of the partner program, as well as the ISO / IEC JTC 1 / SC 25 / WG 3, are in close exchange and intensive cooperation with IEEE 802.3 and IEC SC 46C for uniform transmission standards and copper data cables.
