The managing director of Messe München Falk Senger currently considers it unreasonable for health and economic reasons to have the fair in June. "Now we are looking ahead confidently to organize a successful Automatica 2020 together with the industry in December."

Fair in June hardly feasible

Messe München made the decision in favor of the postponement in close coordination with the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association as the ideal sponsor of Automatica and taking into account numerous feedback from exhibitors. Patrick Schwarzkopf, Managing Director of VDMA Robotik + Automation, explains: "Due to the current situation, we consider exhibitors and visitors to be less and less able to take part." The severely restricted travel options and the imponderables of further development put the feasibility in June at risk. "At the same time, the importance of Automatica as the world's leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics is so great that we don't want to take this risk," Schwarzkopf continues.
