This geared motor unit was implemented in close cooperation with a motor manufacturer in order to find a cost-effective solution for the customer as quickly as possible. The customer from the tool industry needed a compact, high-performance gear, which has the shortest possible axial length. A typical feature of SPN Schwaben Präzision Fritz Hopf GmbH is the adaptation of standard gears in order to develop a drive solution that is ideally suited to the application.
Planetary gear for dynamic positioning tasks
An RC 45 planetary gear unit from SPN was used as the basic technology. This gearbox is designed with a flange shaft, which is characterized by a low torsional backlash, high rigidity, high torque and radial forces as well as low running noise.
So ideal for dynamic positioning tasks, such as the application required by the customer in a confined space. The freedom from maintenance due to lifetime lubrication and the low energy consumption also make the RC45 the perfect basis for the customized solution of the customer.

The SPN experts adapted the transmission accordingly so that it can be connected to the engine without a special clamping unit. The gearbox is sealed directly on the motor shaft, which is specially processed for this.
