Video: Five Innovations From The Fields Of Switches, Relays And Power Supplies
WEG introduces new contactors, which are now adding sizes 95, 110 and 125 to the CWB series. They cover rated operational powers from 45 kW to 55 kW (AC-3 / 400V) and rated operational currents from 95 A to 125 A. Like all CWB contactors, CWB-95 to CWB-125 are built and tested for worldwide use in accordance with IEC / EN 60947 or DIN VDE 0660. The devices are UL-approved for use in the North American market. The small overall width was achieved by designing the devices with power contacts separate from the auxiliary contacts and control connections. Despite the compact design, one NC and one NO contact were integrated as auxiliary contacts in each contactor. The auxiliary contacts are positively driven according to IEC / EN 60947-5-1 and the break contact fulfills the requirements as a mirror contact according to IEC / EN 60947-4-1 Appendix F. Due to a new mechanism, the mechanical lock does not increase the overall width of the respective combination. The slots for auxiliary contacts are also designed to save space.
PCB assembly relays
The basic functioning of a relay as an electromagnetic switch has not changed since the 19th century: on the one hand, it can be used to switch comparatively high loads safely, and on the other hand, a relay provides electrical isolation between the control line and the consumer side. Finder offers various types of relays for PCB mounting: PCB relays for direct installation on the PCB, relays for high starting currents, PCB relays with high packing and functional density and relays for DC voltage applications. Relays from Finder can be used in applications all over the world: Wherever the relays are to be integrated directly on the circuit board, the relay specialist offers a wide range of products. The print relays of the various types not only meet the standards for the European (IEC) and North American market (UL), but also have many other country-specific approvals such as IMQ for Italy or EAC for the Eurasian economic area (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan).
Event tip
At the Relay Technology User Forum, experts will explain in best practice examples the implementation of switching tasks in machines, devices, systems or in process control. In addition, special features of special relays are considered and the relay developments in the context of Smart Grid, Energy Storage, Smart Home and Automotive are shown.
Brochure on AC / DC and DC / DC converters
Whether LDO, POL controller, embedded power concepts with DC / DC converters, individually developed power supplies or standard series: Hy-Line offers a wide variety of products from power supply technology and can only be used with AC / DC and DC / DC converter modules access a database with over 15,000 models. With a product range from 0.25 W to over 100 kW, a complete catalog is no longer up to date. The company therefore offers an overview brochure that presents the various manufacturers (new in the range: ABB, AdelSystem, TDK-Lambda and Synqor) and product series that are available from Hy-Line.
Protect end devices safely against overvoltage
The combined lightning current and surge arresters of the new Blitzductor Connect device series from Dehn protect automation and measurement and control technology in industrial environments as well as information technology interfaces. A high lightning current discharge capacity and a low protection level make them, according to the manufacturer, ideal building blocks for end device protection. They are available in a compact or modular design and both variants have a width of 6 mm. Functions such as the new Sec-R release buttons and push-in technology help to minimize installation effort. Status display and suitable FM unit report failures in the event of overload.
Push button concept for aviation
In addition to other areas of application, Zabel Technik GmbH is also a manufacturer of switch series for aviation. The products are mainly used in the area of business jets. The product range includes a switch series with plastic buttons and one with lasered glass buttons. All aviation products from Zabel Technik GmbH have in common a specially developed assembly technology to install the product optically neutral. It is a combination of stainless steel threads and brass hooks, so that the buttons can be installed directly on site. With this installation mechanism, different panel thicknesses of the individual keys are possible.
