Veli Vrh is a loosely built-up suburb of the Croatian port city of Pula, in which the old school building burned down completely in 2008.
In retrospect, this turned out to be an opportunity for a new, multifunctional ensemble. Today, a total of six differently shaped buildings abound in a well-designed area: the school, including the sports hall and administration, a community center and a kindergarten. Striking colors can be found in all buildings: yellow, green, orange and violet, in addition to white and the gray of the exposed concrete. These colors can also be found on the facades, for example in the kindergarten with its comb-shaped layout. The inward-facing courtyards are defined by yellow facades and floors, the front facades have a cheerful, fresh green. White-pixelated alien icons, which originate from early PC games, make the viewer smile.
