An architecturally central wall pane is finished with a coating and thus visually justifies its importance.

Connect and structure wall panels, wall panels attract attention, serve as a static backbone or show the way. As diverse as the character of this architectural element is, it is often cited conceptually.

The wall pane also plays a multiple role in the new construction of the Bürkert system house in Dresden: on the one hand, it forms the interface between the administrative and the development wing, it statically stiffens the ensemble and sees itself as an inviting gesture to the visitor. The further the pane moves out, the more it dissolves materially - from a closed wall into a loose sequence of filigree supports.

The silvery, shiny wall panel accompanies the access to the company building of the Bürkert works in Großröhrsdorf near Dresden.

In order to bring the wall made of reinforced concrete prefabricated parts into line with the adjacent metal facade, the architects started looking for a suitable metallic coating. With Capadecor-Metallocryl Exterior, they finally found the right effect material for outdoor use. This specially pigmented emulsion paint refines facades to give a silky, soft, metallic shimmering surface. After consultation with Martin Wißmann, who was there as a Caparol property consultant, the implementation was not a problem. The starting conditions for this were excellent, because the hardly weathered prefabricated concrete parts required only a small amount of pretreatment: partial brushing off of dirt was completely sufficient. Leveling or even filling was not necessary, the surfaces smooth enough,to fully develop the metallic character. So the roughly 350 square meter area was first coated on a roller with the facade paint Amphibolin in the shade Venato 30 MET. This nuanced base coating was then followed by the double application of Capadecor Metallocryl Exterior in the same color. Cross-wise brush processing not only prevents visually disturbing approaches from forming, it also ensures that the metallic pigments align differently and thus produce an intense effect. Because hardly any weather and extremely smooth, the finished parts only had to be partially brushed off before coating, leveling or even filling was not necessary.
