Caparol received the Iconic Award twice: for exhibition stand and design tools.

Caparol was twice successful at the Iconic Awards of the German Design Council. The jury made up of experts from the fields of architecture, interior design, design and brand communication distinguished both the trade fair stand at Bau 2015 and the “living space” concept. The awards were presented on October 5 at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.

The appearance of Caparol and its sister brands "From hemp to high-tech" at the world's leading trade fair "Bau 2015" in Munich focused on the values of sustainability and the design and technical future of facade insulation. The focus was on the compatibility of architectural potential as well as environmental protection and recycling of the facade insulation. "The aim of the stand construction was to immediately implement the topics," said Caparol Marketing Manager Oliver Piontkowsky. Existing and reusable materials were used to build the stand. Old used T-beams were used for the stand on two levels based on a skeleton construction. Areas and exhibits were designed in contrast to the steel construction with a natural material look and current graphic interpretations. The implementation impressed the jury, which chose the trade fair stand to be a “winner” in the “architecture” category.

The “living spaces” concept emerged at the Iconic Awards as “Winner” in the “Concept-Visionary Living & Working” category. It is the fourth award for the design tool, which was developed on the basis of extensive research in science and nursing practice in cooperation with the flooring manufacturer Forbo Flooring. The holistic medium consisting of subjects and brochure contains tips and suggestions for interior design with coordinated color suggestions for the design of floors, walls and ceilings especially for older people with visual impairments or dementia. “Design is less a question of the right color tone than the skillful combination of colors and the resulting contrasts,” says color designer Eva Häckel, which deals with senior-friendly design in the Caparol Color Design Studio.
