The facade is one of the parts of a building with the greatest potential for innovation. This definitely applies to the next ten to 20 years. It is all the more important to further develop construction, building materials and coatings as well as the integration of technology and components of an intelligent facade from a qualitative and design-oriented point of view.
Master students meet students
Together with Caparol, the BAF (Federal Association for Finishing and Facade) initiated the "Design meets Function" project. Here, new solutions for the facade are considered both technically and creatively. Master pupils and students should deal with different topics. This can be the integration of components, connections, fastening technology and design. After all, practitioners and university graduates will have to offer solutions for facades that appeal both functionally and visually. "Together with the center of excellence for finishing and facade in Rutesheim, we approached several universities and master schools with the suggestion to spend a semester intensively dealing with the building envelope," said Rudolf Voos,Managing Director of the BAF in the Central Association of the German Construction Industry (ZDB)
The work phase, which is now being implemented, should soon deliver the first results, which will be presented at the international trade fair "Color - Finishing & Facade" in Munich in March 2016 (Hall 2, Stand No. A2.114 and A2.115).
